There is a benefit to F-150 forums because they use the same audio systems and there are MANY more F-150s out there (and more people modifying the audio of those trucks). You can also try F-150 forums (here and elsewhere). There are plenty more threads here, I just grabbed a few off page 1 of my search. If that's where you start, then you sort of already know where you'll land. I'm not the one that said you were too lazy to look this stuff up. you took plenty of time to call me out for not doing a search so.I'll just search the internet. The rest of the speakers will take more effort and cash to do properly.īut, frankly, if you're not willing to do some searching and reading, then this probably isn't the upgrade for you to tackle. A single sub + amp is as close to plug-and-play as you'll get for a significant audio upgrade. Adding a sub is probably the easiest bang-for-buck approach, though space is severely limited. Designed and developed by Ford and KICKER®, the F-150 Audio Upgrade kit utilizes the custom DSP built into the radio to provide super rich bass with improved mid and high frequency response. To amplify signals properly (and even restore frequencies squashed by the oppressive DSP) requires breaking into the digital BUS that carries the audio. It has a 6.94 WVGA capacitive touchscreen display. First off, the AVIC-W8500NEX is their flagship in-dash navigation AV receiver. While you can certainly go with any model of double-DIN car audio receiver, Pioneer has some features I like. Upgrading speakers can help, but speakers are only as good as the signals they receive. When upgrading the stereo in a Ford F-150, start by selecting the in-dash receiver. Those things matter, in terms of what and how you upgrade.įrom there, it can, like most other hobbies, be as expensive as you want it to be. What interface do you have, do you have the B&O premium audio, do you have a factory sub, etc. Start by telling us what you have, in terms of the stereo system. seriously? The search here works pretty well. Please forgive me for being lazy and not taking time to search through the threads I suppose I appreciate the honesty, but. I figure I'd need a single powered subwoofer behind the seat and was hoping for a plug and play operation. I use that storage big time so not giving up that space. I don't want to touch the head unit at all and I absolutely don't want to put a woofer under my seat. And I haven't figured out how to let my back seat down to see if there's a factory subwoofer back there but I don't think so. I see a couple tweeters on the windshield pillars. There's a small speaker in the dash in the center.not sure if that's worth upgrading or not. Just eyeballing the set up seems like 4 new door speakers would be cool. Not "leave the windows down with the woofers pounding rap music while I'm pumping gas bass".but more bass. Honestly I think the stereo in my truck sounds pretty good already but I'd like more crisp clean volume and more bass. Please forgive me for being lazy and not taking time to search through the threads but.is there a fairly common simple stereo upgrade that folks are going with? Brand new member here with my first question that's probably been asked a million times already.
